Salary: Living Stipend: $9,240.75 (Biweekly: $355.41), Education Award: $2,817.14

About Ruff Haven:
Ruff Haven Crisis Sheltering is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing temporary shelter and support for pets during times of crisis. Our mission is to prevent the surrender or abandonment of beloved pets by offering compassionate and practical solutions. We provide emergency pet sheltering, pet owner support, community resource referrals, and education and advocacy. We are Utah's only organization to provide crisis sheltering for families experiencing homelessness.
About AmeriCorps:
The Salt Lake County Vulnerable Populations AmeriCorps Program is a State and National grant focused on Economic Opportunity. We're dedicated to bridging gaps and reducing barriers for vulnerable populations, including (but not limited to):

AmeriCorps members serve individuals and families within community agencies, assisting with critical needs such as:

Job Summary:
We are seeking one AmeriCorps member for a reduced half-time position (675 hours over 12 months, 13-15 hours/week). This is a flexible schedule, primarily Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with some possible evening and weekend hours depending on scheduled events.
Key Responsibilities:

Client Support Services:

Assisting with intake and assessment of clients needing temporary pet sheltering

Providing resources and referrals using trauma-informed practices
-
Coordinating pet pantry services
-

Community Outreach and Education:
-
Participating in community events
-
Presenting educational workshops
-
Distributing informational materials
-
-
Program Development and Reporting:
-
Assisting in the development and improvement of shelter programs
-
Compiling data and reports
-
Gathering feedback from participants and stakeholders
-
Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent
-
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
-
Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.

Organized and detail-oriented
-
Typing skills
-
Experience working and/or education in the Social Service field a plus

Flexibility to work evenings and Saturdays

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
